Recently we made a survey in two contrast areas of West Bengal.  Our survey was based on BMI-scores(Body Mass Index). I am surmised that about one thirds of the sample were of having malnutrition signs. This happened to both developed and underdeveloped areas.      What we did?  Our agricultural statistics become grey when we see the real picture. At the same time We observed gender discrimination in terms of nutrition prevailing ,more significantly among the minority community.

We have categorized the socio-economic factors linking to undernutrition. We have found that education and health-knowledge could give healthy status to the villagers.
